And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer by Fredrik Backman - This novella by the author of A Man Called Ove was written by the author as he and his family grappled with the dementia of his father. It's raw but hopeful. (library copy)

Wild Things and Wild Places by G. K. Yarrow - This book was recommended by a fellow Mater Amabilis mom in the Facebook group as a book great for young people interested in zoo science, ecology, and wildlife biology. It reads exactly as a memoir written by Dr. Yarrow, as if he were writing stories down for his children or his students. It's full of good advice for young people in the field or interested in working in the intersection of the natural world and communities. I assigned it to Second Daughter as a complement to her apprenticeship time at our local zoo to make a full credit zoology course. (purchased copy)
