For the Curious Among You

No one asked or mentioned it, but I thought I'd set your minds at ease.

Yes, I did wash Kansas Dad's iPod with his gym shorts when it was only one month old.

Yes, we did order a new one.

But, the original one seems to be working fine after sitting idle for a week, drying out. Apparently, getting washed in a low-water-usage-washing-machine is merely flirting with danger, not certain death.

Though Kansas Dad suggested we keep the new iPod for me to use (what an ingenious way to get an iPod for myself!), we hadn't opened it yet so decided to return it.

Now you know.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. I honestly wondered. I have heard of drying things like that (cell phones etc.) in a bucket of rice when they get wet. You know, if you do it again...

I was also curious how the egg in pocket mess turned out. ;-D

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Monica, we read lots of suggestions online, but just left it on the counter. Since Kansas Dad had actually tried to plug it in (definitely not what you want to do until you're certain it's dry) we really didn't expect it to work again.

I washed his coat once, then pulled the pocket inside out and washed it a second time. It looks like it might be a little stained but that might have been from something else. It smells fine and that's the important thing.

Comments make me happy; thanks for speaking up!
